IWD 2026 – Building Equiality Through Technology
Creating more inclusive environments, one step at a time
Gender equality is not a goal achieved overnight, but every step forward matters. Teaching respect, empathy, and leading by example at home is the foundation for building a fairer, more equitable, and truly inclusive society, where everyone, regardless of gender, has the same opportunities to grow and develop their talent.
Progress is real, but the work is not finished
After more than 15 years working in the technology sector, I have had the opportunity to see meaningful progress take place. We are seeing more women interested in technical disciplines and taking on roles in areas that have traditionally been more male-dominated. At the same time, I am also aware that there is still more work to do.
Inclusion drives better innovation
In technology, equality is also closely linked to innovation. Technology is built on ideas, talent, and diverse perspectives. When teams are more inclusive, the solutions we develop are stronger as well. Encouraging work environments where everyone can contribute their point of view is not only a matter of fairness, but also an opportunity to strengthen creativity, learning, and organizational progress.
A personal view from BTS
When I joined BTS more than 15 years ago, female representation in technical areas was much lower. Today, we are seeing real progress: more women are entering the field with strong technical capabilities, partly thanks to an education system that has gradually challenged stereotypes and opened up STEAM disciplines to everyone. Because of this, BTS has been able to bring in more female talent, enriching the team, strengthening the way we work, and adding different perspectives that improve the final outcome. As an HR professional, it is something I am proud to support as part of the growth and development of people across the organization.
Give to Gain in practice
At BTS, we strongly believe in the principle of Give to Gain: when we share knowledge, support others, and contribute to the growth of the people around us, everyone moves forward. Promoting equality is also part of that philosophy. It means creating environments where talent can grow without barriers and where each person has the opportunity to contribute their very best.
Change starts with everyday actions
I have also learned that major change does not always begin with major decisions. More often, it starts with small everyday actions: supporting talent, creating opportunities, listening to new ideas, and building spaces where everyone can grow professionally.
Let’s build together
Building and educating remain the foundation of everything. That is why my advice to those of us who share this professional path is simple but powerful: let’s build together.
Together, we can continue creating more equitable, inspiring, and innovative environments for future generations. Let us be agents of change, raise our voices, and keep working so that every conversation, every decision, and every opportunity brings us one step closer to real equality.
